AmePower and Richard AG Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement to Bring Swiss Rail Power Technology to North America
AmePower becomes Richard AG’s exclusive North American distributor and service partner — delivering shorter lead times, local support and a pathway to Buy America compliance.
BERLIN, Germany — September 22, 2026
AmePower, a Miami-based manufacturer of high-power rail converters, and Richard AG, the Swiss specialist in pantographs and high-voltage railway equipment, today announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement bringing Richard AG’s product portfolio to North America through AmePower, with assembly, testing and service based in Miami, Florida.
Under the agreement, AmePower becomes Richard AG’s exclusive distributor and Authorized Repair Center for North America, assembling, testing and servicing Richard AG’s pantographs and vacuum circuit breakers at its Miami facility with technicians trained and certified by Richard AG.
The partnership unites two long-established companies whose products meet at the vehicle’s high-voltage interface: Richard AG collects, switches and protects incoming power; AmePower converts and controls it for propulsion, auxiliary systems and battery charging.
What the partnership means for North American customers:
Shorter lead times, local support. Assembly, testing, warranty support and repairs take place in Miami, with parts stocked locally and one point of contact for service.
A pathway to Buy America compliance. A phased localization plan — Swiss-built product, then US final assembly, then qualified US components — lets Richard AG’s products meet Buy America/BABA requirements over time.
