Space Efficiency: Compact design maximizes server capacity.

Energy Savings: High efficiency reduces electricity and cooling costs.

Improved Reliability: Reduces downtime and maintenance needs.

Enhanced Power Quality: Provides stable, clean energy to protect sensitive equipment.

Scalability: Easily adapts to growing power demands from 500 kW to 2 MW without redesign.

ESS Capability: Supports energy storage and backup power integration.

Easy Integration: Compatible with existing infrastructure for simplified deployment.

Future-Proof: Long-term performance. Ready for NVIDIA’s 800V HVDC AI Factory Roadmap.

Architecture: Introduces HVDC bus to HV Server Racks. PSUs outside the server rack in Sidecar.

Infrastructure: Improved infrastructure within IT Racks (short distances between IT shelfs) and Sidecar (full focus on power).

OPTION A

WHEN TO CHOOSE:
Maximum compute per row with centralized energy storage elsewhere or UPS at the facility level.

BENEFITS:

  • Doubles rack power density from a single Sidecar envelope.

  • Supports moving conversion outside the rack and simplifies the power chain.

OPTION B

WHEN TO CHOOSE:
Sites adopting HVDC sidecar phase that want energy storage for ride-through and load shaping near the rack.

BENEFITS:

  • Maximizes rack compute density by keeping PSUs outside the rack.

  • Battery smooths sub-second GPU transients and supports graceful ride-through.

  • Short DC runs reduce copper and resistive losses versus 54 V distribution.
